Weekly Library Visit

My sweet library partner Andrew goes with me once a week to check out books. He loves to "read" his books to me. Such a sweetheart! We checked out a book about a mouse's first day of kindergarten...so glad that I do not have to take little Roo yet! Sniff, sniff!

Here is the book that I was hoping the library had in, and I was lucky to find that it was. This new author has only written this book and another one that I read last week called "Everyone is Beautiful"...I really like her books...easy reads about moms...some refer to it as "chick lit" but I call it good reading!!! The author is Katherine Center.

Mom vs. Andrew's Tummy

Andrew now refers to his tummy in the third person...

Andrew: "Mom, my tummy wants to eat Lucky Charms."
Me: "Andrew, you tell your tummy that it can have Lucky Charms after it eats its chicken, corn, and tomatoes."
Andrew: "It said No."
Me: "Andrew, you tell it again that I said it can not have Lucky Charms until it eats all of its chicken, corn, and tomatoes."

Andrew retrieves his plate off of the table where we had it stored when he declared he was full an hour earlier.

Score:
Mom=1, Tummy=0

Hangin' out at the Kansas Beach

Kansas has a beach? Yes, it does, and it is the only beach that Andrew has ever seen...he has been to the ocean (LA fishing trip) but not to a real tropical beach. The beaches in Kansas do not require a lot of travel or reservations at a fancy resort. They may not have starfish, shells, or jellyfish, but they certainly provide fun in the sun, sand castle making, and a cool breeze. Here are some pics of Andrew enjoying some time at the KS beach this past weekend. We hope to take him to a tropical beach some day soon, but in the meantime, the beaches in KS will do just fine!

PJ Day

Tuesday was PJ Day at Andrew's School. He wore his Spongebob pajamas and flip flops. He took his Spongebob sleeping toy with him also! Andrew said "Mom, do you get to wear your pjs to your work, too?" Unfortunately, no...

Playin' at Andrew's House

This is the first weekend in a really, really long time that we have not had something to do, somewhere to go, someone to pick up, etc.!! Andrew had a friend over today, and they had a fun time playing in the unseasonably cool weather. We even had our very first visit from an ice cream truck complete with the music and flashing signs! Andrew got a Spongebob on a stick, and his guest got a Batman on a stick. Yummy!

Weekends-O-Fun

We have had two fun weekends here in KS...spent at the lake. Here are some photos of us enjoying some kid-free fun. It has been great, but I really miss Andrew. I am ready for some good, old-fashioned family fun with Andrew and David.

Little Roo visited with his Aunt Carly, Mimi, and Pop in Pontotoc recently. They had a special birthday party for him to help celebrate his 4th birthday. Uncle Jamie, Aunt Sarah, and my grandmother were some of the special guests. Dad and Sarah sent me these pictures...thanks for making Andrew's visit a special one!!
