Happy New Year

We had a super time at our neighbor's house this New Year's Eve. We were leaving the next day to go on our vacation to Kansas City, so we had to leave shortly after midnight :~( However, we had a great time and hope everyone has a great 2009!

Tag, We Are It!

The object of the picture tag is to:
1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer
2) Select the 4th picture in the folder
3) Explain the picture
4) Tag 4 people to do the same

EXPLANANTION: This is a picture of myself in front of the bar where David Cook worked as a bartender in Tulsa, OK before he won Amercan Idol. The picture is bad because David took it from our car with my cell phone. Thus, I never posted it to my blog...until today.
David Cook is my favorite American Idol so far. Clay Aiken is second.

I TAG: Stephanie Walker, Christi Brewer, Anna Dulaney, Elisabeth Steele

Christmas in Kansas

It was too cold to ride outside, so Andrew tried to ride his bike inside. We still have about six inches of snow.
Andrew discovers Santa left him a bike to go along with his matching helmet.
The calm after the storm...
Andrew with the Thomas table from Nana. We added a Cranky the Crane and a water tower to Andrew's collection of Thomas toys. He also asked for a James with a coal tender...the regular James just would not do.
After taking an inventory of what Santa brought, Andrew began opening presents!
Andrew modeling his new, fuzzy "Cars" robe. He wore it for about 2 seconds.

Visit to Mississippi

Andrew loves Santa...last year he did not like this Santa.
Andrew with his Aunt Carly in Pontotoc, MS.

We were so happy to get to see Rebecca Hinshaw Desantis and family at her parents home in West Point. Here is Luke, Jacob, and Andrew as a train goes by.

Nana telling Andrew about his new toy 18-wheeler.

Andrew thanking Poppa for his presents.

Hurricane Andrew playing with his new Thomas the Train tent in West Point, MS.

Andrew, Aunt Sarah, and Memaw enjoying Christmas in West Point, MS.

We had a whirlwind visit to Mississippi last week. We visited with the Naughers in Pontotoc, the Weems in West Point, my grandmother, David's aunt in Tupelo, my very good friend Rebecca who just returned from living in England, and the Youngs in Memphis...all in four days. Andrew is officially spoiled rotten. We had a great time, and I am thankful to have such a large family.

First Sled of Winter 2008

David took Andrew sledding on Tuesday for the first time this winter. We all went last year, but I do not know if Andrew remembers. Here are some photos of all the fun.

Two Degrees...BRRR.

For our MS friends and relatives, can you BELIEVE it??? I took this with my phone on the way to work. If it were colder, would car thermostats show the temperature with a negative degree symbol? I do not want to find out!

Show and Share ~ Letter O

I thought that this letter ("O") was going to be hard, and then I realized that we could use the word "ornament." Then, we had about 100 things to chose from. Out of all the ornaments on our tree, Andrew picked the one that Nana gave him. It is a Santa Claus with an opening for a picture. Andrew and Nana are on the ornament. Last week was the first week that we completely forgot to take something for Show and Share. I felt like I had forgotten to do my homework. Anyway, we are back on track this week and hoping to make up for last week with our extra unique Show and Share item. Yay, letter "O."

Professional Photos

Andrew got his picture taken recently, and these were a few of the shots...I did not post my most favorites because I wanted those to be a surprise for certain people getting Christmas presents from us! He did really good, and it was hard to narrow it down to just a few.
Andrew had a super fun time Saturday night. We went out to my company Christmas party, and Andrew got to stay home with a very qualified and entertaining babysitter. He was so sad to wake up on Sunday and realize that she had not spent the night:( He did great when we left, and he did not seem disappointed or concerned that he was not getting to come along with us! Mom and Dad enjoyed having grown up conversation and even did a little dancing after the company party at a local establishment.

Visit with Pop

Pop also came to visit Andrew, David, and I for Thanksgiving. He brought Andrew an early Christmas present...a deluxe set of Lincoln Logs with Andrew's favorite - a train set included! Pop and Andrew had a really fun time playing with it. We enjoyed a wonderful meal together followed by a much needed nap! On Friday, Andrew, David, and Pop toured the Kansas Underground Salt Museum. Thanks Pop for making the long drive out to visit us! We enjoyed spending time with you!
