Happy Birthday David!

I am excited to say that in about an hour, we will be leaving Andrew at home with a super qualified sitter. We are going out to celebrate David's birthday...something we normally do not get to do because I don't usually plan anything more than going out to eat, etc. Well, we are going to see Rodney Atkins in concert with our fabulous neighbors at the Stiefel Theatre in Salina, KS. Beforehand, we are going out for dinner and drinks. Rodney sings "These are My People", "Cleaning This Gun", "If You are Going Through Hell...", and a few others. It was kinda one of those, yeah I have heard of him and his tickets are less than $100, let's go moments! I have always wanted to go to the Stiefel Theatre, so this was a great excuse. I WANTED to go see Ron White there, and I tried everything to get tickets last year, but I never got them. Anyway, I am going to be late if I do not get off the computer, so...hopefully we can take so pics to post on here later. Happy Birthday to my super handsome hubbie...I love you. Oh, I include a photo of the entrance to the theatre and Rodney Atkins...

Show and Share - Letter "S"

This week Andrew was thinking he would take his plastic, life-like snake for show and share. I could not think of a way to tell him that I threw it away because every time I went to the bathroom it scared the you know what out of me. Anyway, Andrew's February issue of "Your Big Backyard" that Nana gave him came today. On the front was a picture of a Bighorn "S"heep. This will be our show and share for the week, and I do not have to confess about what happened to the snake...

Bike Lessons

We took Andrew out to practice riding the Lightning McQueen bike Santa brought him for Christmas. The weather was beautiful!! Andrew is starting to get the hang of pedaling...but we need to learn that pedaling backwards means you are putting on the brakes!

Show and Share - Letter "R"

Andrew is taking a "r"eindeer for show and share tomorrow to celebrate the letter "r."
We were going to his favorite stuffed rabbit, but as you can see from the disaster below, the rabbit was unable to be found.

Show and Share - Letter "Q"

We missed the letter "P" with the hustle and bustle of the holiday travel, but here is this past week's letter "Q." We took Q-Tips for the letter "Q." One of his other friends brought everyone in his class a shiny new "Q"uarter. Andrew slept with his quarter Friday night...he still has not lost it. This was a hard letter to think of an idea for Show and Share.

Playdates are great!

Above, Andrew and his friend Ayden play with Andrew's new Thomas Trundle Table.

For a snack, each of the boys had two bananas each! Playing hard makes you hungry!

Andrew had his friend Ayden over on Saturday for playtime. They play so nicely together. Hours were spent playing Thomas, hide from the monster, trucks, Whac-a-Mole, and Candyland.

Great Wolf Lodge in KC

This was where Andrew stayed...his room was a room inside our room...I did not sleep at all the first night because I was waiting for him to fall off of the top bunk. Thankfully, he stayed safely in place.
Here is a picture of Andrew and all of the other kids at Great Wolf listening to the nightly story. He is in the stripes.
Here is Andrew pulling Wiley the Wolf's tail. He came out each evening after the clock tower show.
Andrew and Dad after the nightly clock tower show in the lobby. They read books and sang songs to the children each night.
David and Andrew had just come out of the really fast green water slide. It was hard to get really great action shots.
Here is a picture of Andrew in the lobby after hearing them do the clock tower show and reading the bedtime story.
Here are Andrew and David in front of the water fort. There was a huge 1,000 gallon bucket that was about to spill over that they were looking at...it did this about every 5 minutes.
Andrew and Dad just went down the blue slide on a tube here. I went with him on this one, and he fell out with me. He told me that riding with Dad was much more fun.
Mom and Andrew going down the super dark yellow slide...this one was his favorite.
Andrew just went down the red water slide all by himself.
Here is Andrew bravely going down one of the water slides all by himself.
Here is Andrew on our last day at the water park...he told us he wanted to live there instead of going home.

We had a great family vacation to the Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City, KS over the past weekend. They have an indoor water park which provided hours and hours of fun for our family.

Happy New Year

We had a super time at our neighbor's house this New Year's Eve. We were leaving the next day to go on our vacation to Kansas City, so we had to leave shortly after midnight :~( However, we had a great time and hope everyone has a great 2009!

4) Tag 4 people to do the same

EXPLANANTION: This is a picture of myself in front of the bar where David Cook worked as a bartender in Tulsa, OK before he won Amercan Idol. The picture is bad because David took it from our car with my cell phone. Thus, I never posted it to my blog...until today.
David Cook is my favorite American Idol so far. Clay Aiken is second.

I TAG: Stephanie Walker, Christi Brewer, Anna Dulaney, Elisabeth Steele

Christmas in Kansas

It was too cold to ride outside, so Andrew tried to ride his bike inside. We still have about six inches of snow.
Andrew discovers Santa left him a bike to go along with his matching helmet.
The calm after the storm...
Andrew with the Thomas table from Nana. We added a Cranky the Crane and a water tower to Andrew's collection of Thomas toys. He also asked for a James with a coal tender...the regular James just would not do.
After taking an inventory of what Santa brought, Andrew began opening presents!
Andrew modeling his new, fuzzy "Cars" robe. He wore it for about 2 seconds.
