Mother's Day Wichita Weekend

Mom and Andrew chillin' at the hotel...in our pjs.

Chuck E. Cheese's

Our favorite SpongeBob game at Chuck E. Cheese.

Swimming at the indoor pool at our hotel...Andrew was running, and he had just fallen down because of this! He made a speedy recovery.
Andrew about three minutes after falling down...happy again!

Showing off our new Wonder Pets PJs...notice the cape.
Notice the cape!!
More swimming fun.
Andrew watching the "mingos" at the Sedgwick County Zoo.
A really cute Asian sheep.
Andrew petting a baby sheep.

Andrew eating banana cotton candy at the zoo snack bar.

Andrew and Mom went on a mother/son trip this past weekend in Wichita. We had tons of fun at the hotel which had an indoor pool for us to enjoy. Andrew was able to practice his swimming skills for the summer! We went to Chuck E. Cheese, the mall, and to the Sedgwick County Zoo. The weather was unusually cold, and I only packed shorts with short sleeves for us. Therefore, we did not do much outside. I was able to find Andrew a long sleeve tee at the zoo gift shop on Sunday. It was nice to spend some family time together.

All Schools Day

A yearly tradition where we live is the All Schools Day Celebration. Business throughout town, government buildings, and every school closes for the entire day. There is a carnival all week long, and a fantastic parade on Friday. Here are some pictures from the event that we went to today. Andrew and Mom had a great time.
The web site for the event says that "events begin Sunday evening, May 3, and continue throughout the week. All Schools Day activities include the traditional May Fete event, a huge parade down Main Street, carnival rides, activities in many locations throughout the city, fireworks, music, tours, and a host of other activities you won't want to miss." I can't wait until Andrew is old enough to ride on a float!!

Happy Mother's Day Gift

Andrew's school helps them to create the sweetest gifts for Mom's Day. Inside the card, Andrew had written his name, and there was a message:
My love,
for you,
grows and grows.
Happy Mother's Day.
Love,
Andrew

I love being Andrew's mom. It is such a blessing, and I cherish every single day.

Look What Nana and David Did!!

We were thrilled to have Nana come and stay with us for about a week recently! She and David only had to go hunting once to find success. I have been twice, and since there have been no pictures posted...it is obvious I have not found success! Nana and David made a great team. Congrats!!

Monster Truck Nationals!!

The much anticipated Monster Truck Nationals came to the Hartman Arena in Wichita this past Friday night. Of course we had to go and take Andrew because he is such a big fan of any kind of truck. It was awesome...they even opened up the floor before everything started so that the kids could get autographs and pictures. We were pleasantly surprised that they also had motocross competitions for little kids all the way up to adults. This was our first time to see this live, and it was way cool.
After we were there for about two hours, Andrew got squirmy. It was pretty loud and smokey for him. Also, it was late AND it was a Friday...which means Andrew was super tired. So, we sadly left after the first half. However, we really had a fun time. I hope that we can find some more of the motocross races to go to...those were really my favorite.
Here are some pictures that we took with David's cell phone...my camera was out of batteries...imagine that. The motocross boys allowed the kids to sit on their bikes. Andrew looks right at home....

Beautiful Flowers

I have to brag because surprises like this are just worth sharing! Myself and another gal here at work have been slaving over our company's 50th Anniversary Gala for the past three months. It all happens this Friday night...click HERE for a link to the celebration. Anyway, my very thoughtful boss sent the both of us our very own beautiful bouquets of flowers today. What a surprise!! I feel special.
