More Blizzard 2009

David's car is not moving today!!
These flower pots are basically covered in snow. They have to be at least a foot tall.
Macy out for a morning stroll. Notice Andrew's three-wheeler...only the handle bars can be seen.
Andrew's playland...there are about six inches between the swing and the snow.
Again, a close up of the handle bars...and the funny thing is, it is still snowing.

Blizzard 2009

We had to get out of the house this afternoon...we went to Dillon's to get pre-made cookie dough so Andrew could make cookies. Here are some pics of the blizzard. The wind was blowing so hard that it felt like tiny chips of glass stinging your face!

Blizzard Conditions

Seriously, it was 80 degrees here last Friday. This is the weather forecast for tomorrow. We are predicted to get between 8-12 inches!! I think this is so cool, but I am in the minority...everyone else thinks it is a hassle. Watch a tree fall on my car or something since I am so thrilled about the snow...

Southern Comfort, Est. 2009

I do not have pictures of our lake house yet, but I do have some pretty cool photos of our sign that we will put on the outside. We named our place at the lake "Southern Comfort." Annie Walker, a very talented graphic design student from K-State created this awesome sign for us.

Something Exciting Came in the Mail from Aunt Sarah...

Congratulations Aunt Sarah and Uncle Jamie!!! Aunt Sarah called me this morning and told me that there was a package coming to us in the mail from her. She requested that I call her when Andrew opened the package. I was clueless. I just thought she got him a really neat toy or something. When I realized it was a tee shirt, I figured it was a really cool Diego, Sponge Bob, or Thomas the Train shirt. Well, I was wrong!! She had me on speakerphone, and my Mom was in the car with her when we all "saw" the news on Andrew's shirt! David was home too which made it even more special! We are soooo excited, and we can not wait until our new cousin arrives!!!! Andrew can't wait to have someone to play with when he visits Nana and Aunt Sarah! We are so happy for the Burrells!!

Bass Pro Shops Rocks!

It does not take much to excite us...here are some more photos from our recent stop in Tulsa, OK at the most rockin' Bass Pro Shops I have ever been to...and I have been to many being the wife of David! Andrew wanted to sit on every ATV they had, and we had to tour all of the boats. The beautiful waterfall that I took a picture of goes into an aquarium of fish native to the Midwest. We only stayed 2 hours because we still had a 4 hours of driving ahead of us...thank goodness for that.

Andrew's First Magazine Cover

Can you believe it? Andrew Young on the cover of Bass Master at the age of 3? Seriously, this was a Bass Pro Shops promotion that they had at the store in Tulsa, OK. We stopped there for two hours on our way back from meeting Memaw and Papaw in Fort Smith, AR. He did such a good job holding his hand out there for the pretend fish that they put in there for him! We got life jackets for our jet ski, turkey calls, a Hunter Dan turkey and tent, t-shirts, coozies, and oil for the jet ski...so easy to find things you need there.

My Handy Hubby!

I really got lucky in the marriage department. David brings a lot to the table when it comes to being able to fix things, install things, and put things together. He is a great painter, and he can easily handle almost any home project. Well, I have been wanting a king sized bed ever since I can remember. When I finally talked him into going to look at purchasing our new mattresses, they were much more expensive than I thought they would be. Anyway, David had this idea about taking an old door, refinishing it, staining it, and using it as our headboard. I thought he was just trying to be cheap because I wanted a bed frame to go with the new mattresses...anyway, here is the final product, and I could not be happier!!

Going to Nana's

Andrew adores having a reason to wear his back pack...I think for two reasons. One: Diego wears an orange rescue pack, and anything that Diego does is super cool. Two: The big kids at school wear them, and we love to look like a big kid! Anyway, Andrew selected all of his favorite toys that would fit into his back pack so that he could take them on his trip to Nana's house. I thought this was a super cute photo of him wearing his back pack. Notice he is giving me a thumbs up because he knows going to Nana's means constant entertainment and attention!

Show and Share - Letter "X"

Even though Andrew was absent from school on Friday, we still did our homework! The letter of the week was "X." I printed out an "X"-ray from a google search that I did. Andrew thought that the bones were from his hands. This was a hard letter...not many things start with "x."
